URI MENA Leadership Team participated in the Accelerate Peace Conference in California, USA, June 2019

The Accelerate Peace Conference was held on Stanford University’s campus in California, USA. It brought together more than 400 peacebuilders from around the world to discuss challenges to peace, both in their local communities and on an international level, and also to discuss action-oriented solutions to benefit all of humanity. URI MENA joined other URI regions’ leaders on the stage to say: “We are the Middle East & North Africa; we are here to make peace in our community and the world.” Mamoun also shared his experience in ending religiously motivated violence in MENA through building resilient communities and preventing youth from radicalization that leads to violence.
