Transnational Training and Cooperation Activities
I participated in in a four-day online Training Course on “Competencies of Youth Workers in Preventing Violent Radicalization and Extremism.” The project was dedicated to developing youth workers competencies in the field of preventing violent radicalization and extremism (VR & E). The project was organized by SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus, in cooperation with SALTO Euromed, SALTO SEE, German, French, Italian, Polish and Slovenian National Agencies of Erasmus+.
The program fulfilled the following objectives:
– Reflected on key concepts regarding the meaning of radicalization, community resilience, and countering negative narratives
– Introduced the competence model for youth workers for preventing violent radicalization and extremism
– Explored the potential of Erasmus+ Programme & ESC to support youth work in developing community resilience
– Explored specific competencies to strengthen individual and community resilience
Participants had time to reflect on the four key competencies for preventing VR & E, on different levels — self, organization and community:
1. Communicating meaningfully with others
2. Facilitating individual and group learning in an enriching environment
3. Displaying intercultural competence
4. Networking and advocating
