Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al-Alimat, a Member of Parliament of Jordan, the Qudrat Association for Community Development celebrated the inauguration of the Nawara Community Hall. This multi-purpose facility in Mafraq aims to foster community engagement and revitalization. The event was attended by Qudrat’s CEO, Dr. Abdul Karim Rabie Al-Khazaleh, along with members of the Qudrat team, local community participants, and young people engaged in the association’s programs.
The name “Nawara,” meaning illumination, was chosen to symbolize the renewal and strengthening of community ties in Mafraq, aiming to enhance residents’ sense of belonging. In his opening remarks, Deputy Al-Alimat underscored the significance of civil society organizations in empowering diverse community segments and complementing government efforts to address pressing issues. Highlighting the challenges facing the youth in Mafraq, exacerbated by the Syrian refugee crisis, he advocated for collaborative efforts between the government, private sector, and civil society to address these challenges.
The newly inaugurated Nawara Center is designed to equip community members with a wide range of skills through workshops, training sessions, and lectures in various fields. Outfitted with modern seating, tables, technology, and equipment, the center provides a space for learning and skill-building to support active community participation.
Dr. Abdul Karim Rabie Al-Khazaleh, CEO of Qudrat, spoke of the association’s mission to empower communities by raising awareness, building skills, and connecting individuals to employment opportunities. He expressed gratitude to Deputy Al-Alimat for his steadfast support and his dedication to community welfare, also acknowledging the pivotal role of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II in promoting youth empowerment and creating opportunities for Jordan’s young population.
During the youth dialogue session, participants voiced their appreciation for Qudrat’s initiatives and Deputy Al-Alimat’s ongoing support. They discussed challenges they face in areas such as education, health, infrastructure, and public services, highlighting the need for more recreational facilities and industrial zones in Mafraq. The young attendees emphasized that such developments could generate job opportunities and help them leverage their skills and talents, contributing to the region’s overall growth.
